The Herston Biofabrication Institute (HBI) is a state-of-the-art facility , opening in 2020 bringing together clinicians, academics, industry and consumers to progress innovations in 3D scanning, 3D modelling and 3D printing of medical devices, bone, cartilage and human tissue.

A key priority for our Client was to provide a fully equipped laboratory as part of the facility.  GRC was able to identify and provide Value Management options that allowed the Client to acquire more laboratory equipment without comprising the function or visual appeal of the Institute.  By identifying these items during the cost planning phase, we were able to work with the design team to source alternate items such furniture prior to tender release.
